Ephestiasula is a small boxer mantis. They also have very long antennas, which are moved very fast through the air.

Mantids from this genus are not very aggressive, so they could be kept together. However, they must be fed well when they are kept together, otherwise canibalism can be forced.

At present, at least 2 species are described: Ephestiasula amoena (BOLIVAR, 1897), E. intermedia (WERNER, 1930) and E. pictipes (WOOD-MASON, 1879).

Typical look of the nymphs:

  • L2 and up: black, later brown, like bigger nymph

Ephestiasula shows the typical boxer-like behavior. They move their fore-limbs circulary forward an backward, while the inner side is visible.
